Hello,

I recently put in an order for a new computer. Decided to go custom instead of get questionable parts rebranded and assembled as a Dell hehehe...

Anyway, I've put in my order, but I'm waiting for the parts to ship. Here are the specs:

- Antec TX1050B case (comes with Antec SP500 PSU, not the best but I figured I'd try it for a while)
- 4 additional Antec TriCool fans for the case (3 or 4 pin connectors)
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
- 2 GB Corsair XMS2 800MHz PC2-6400 RAM
- Intel D975XBX motherboard
- EVGA 7900 GT KO (ordered before the 7950 GT was available - nuts!)
- 2 x Seagate 7200.10 SATA 320GB HDDs
- 2 x NEC 3550A DVD burners

I've been using computers for around 18 years and feel confident poking around inside a case (removing or adding individual components), but I've never built a rig from scratch, i.e. mounted a motherboard, hooked the PSU up to it, etc.

I have some questions as follows:

1. Will I have enough power connectors to hook all that junk up?
2. Will I be able to hook up my power supply to my motherboard? I heard that Bad Axe needs an ATX v2.2 PSU whereas the one that comes with my case says it's only ATX v2.0. Is there a difference/will an ATX v2.0 work?
3. How should I hook up my fans, through the 3 pin connector, or the 4 pin? I've heard the difference is always-on vs. temperature controlled, but what senses the temperature, the motherboard? Is there a BIOS setting to control the temp at which the fans are activated?

Is it tough to hook up the motherboard to the case, like attaching the power button, USB slots, and all that jazz? And plugging the PSU into all the correct/available places on the motherboard? I'm assuming Bad Axe comes with a manual that instructs you on how to do all that?

My primary concern is powering the mobo and the number of available power plugs for the fans/how to hook them up, but I'm also worried about assembling a computer for the first time around.

Many thanks for any comments or suggestions,

I woudn't run on the SP PSU. It simply won't last you long. A 500W Silverstone Element would better suit you.
