My computer was running fine for awhile until recently it keep freezing.. it will work everything fine but once i start playing a video or fallout3, it will freeze after less than a min. this problem has never happened before until a couple of days ago. i have tried installing the newest drivers i can get from the manufactor's webbie but to no avail.

when i boot in safe mode, everything runs fine including the video. and when i use standard VGA driver , the video runs fine without jamming as well.

Flash the video card back to its original factory settings. There is no reaso to flash it to another version of the firmware. There shouldn't be a compatibilty issue between your board and the card. If the motherboard has a 16x PCI-e slot then the card will work.

What brand is your PSU?

nope if it was in gen2 bios, the card will not start up at all. it is a problem faced by many users and i followed suit and it eventually started working after i flashed it on my fren's computer. the psu brand is vios. what vex me is it was working fine for the past month then the problem suddenly strikes..

If it was working fine for the last month, than my question would be what did you change or install in the last month?

Or the question is (if you haven't changed or installed anything) what went bad?

If it only has instability while gaming, then I would tend to suspect the GPU. But you might want to run a memory test first, just to eliminate your RAM as the culprit: either MemTest or Vista's memory diagnostics tool if you have Vista @ %SystemRoot%\system32\MdSched.exe.

OVERHEATING-check to make sure you have proper cooling in your box and also the GPU fan is working properly.
