hi

im new to computing, i know roughly how to use one but but am lost on the technical side

i just have a question, ive purchased a desktop that was described as being abouve 2.1ghz, when it arrived it had a amd athlon 2900 pro on board. i complained to the company and they said they had a number of complaints about this as it only runs at 1.5ghz, they have offered to upgrade it for free to a 3000xp amd, is this processor any good, what is the clock speed.

i would be very greatful for any help

thanks

Sounds like the company is trying to pull one on you. First off there is no 2900pro, when you get your 3000+ there are two flavors of it, one with 333fsb and the other 400fsb and they should run @2.16 or 2.1. Could you post the specs of your computer your getting or the web site your getting this from.
