I have an old Pentium 75 MHz computer that I still use frequently. I was wondering if getting an extremely cheap video card that supports OpenGL would be worth it? I would not be playing any games, but I would be doing some introductory programming for OpenGL on the machine. I currently have a S3 Trio64 in the computer and wanted to "upgrade" to a used card like the Voodoo 3 PCI or ATI Rage 128 PCI, not for the intent of gaming, but for the intent of introductory programming. Thank you for your time.

what do you mean by 'worth it"? If you spend $20 on a V3 how can you really get hurt?

You'll need at least a Pentium 200 to see any benefits from the V3.

I disagree. While he certainly wouldnt be pushing a V3 very hard at all with only a P75 he will still gain tremendously over his current card. Considering he only has an S3 Trio which is pretty much devoid of any 3D hardware acceleration at all a V3 would be infinitely faster then what he presently has.
