I've got :
a p3 500mhz
tomato t810 B-S mobo.
seagate u10 10.2 gb hdd
and samsung 52x cd rom.

My problem is that my comp. boots but doesn't detect the hdd and cd rom. And when the hdd and cd rom is connected to the mobo the red busy lite is always on(i.e. it doesn't flicker or anything). Please help!

Has it been working and then just start having problems or where you just setting it up? I would try another cable too. If you are just setting it up make sure both the HD & CDrom aren't set to master or both to slave. Try just the HD and then see what happens.

my hdd is on primary master and cd rom is secondary master. So both uses diffn ide cables. How can both the cables go bad at the same time? Any other advise?

I'd guess it's your jumper setting. They can be tricky.

The mobo is jumperless.

But the drives are not. Both must be set either to Master, or if they have it, Single Drive.

Someone asked already, but it was not replied to - is this a fresh build, or was it working fine, and then the drives just went away?

Have you made sure the pin1 is in the right place?
Is this a new setup, or an old one that isn't working all the sudden? Might be the IDE controller has died.

Try only connecting 1 drive, see if it works, switch out ide cables, and between the primary and secondary ports.
