Help needed to get out motherboard from Presario 2132

Hi!

I am trying to get an old Compaq Presario 2132EA back to life again by soldering on a new DC power jack. I've almost completely disassembled it but where I've hit a roadblock is that the motherboard won't come off the notebook chassis. Something at the back of the chassis is holding it in place and there are no visible screws that are on there. It something near the VGA and serial ports. Can anyone help?

Hi!

Just an update. I was able to get the motherboard about. It just took a little more 'persuasion' on my part. Flexing the motherboard and plastic casing to its threshold is not my idea of a good build, but at least Compaq-HP makes their desktops easy to service.

I tested the old DC jack for connectivity. The jack itself seems to work okay. The connector is a barrel-and-pin style where the pin is an actual contact (unlike the barrel-in-barrel that Dells and Lenovo Thinkpads use). I unplugged the adapter and tested the connectivity from the barrel to the motherboard contact of the jack, and that seems okay too. I don't think there's a way for me to check for connectivity between the inner pin and the contact on the jack (if there isn't a connection there, it would be a faulty adapter 'pin', but I have no idea how to get a contact there). I also have to check the soldering, but if I use the 'feet' of the DC jack as one contact point for the multimeter, where would the other contact point be?
