Help needed setting up Dual monitors.

I finally decided on a dual monitor system. My second monitor is on order from Dell and should arrive shortly.

Can anybody give me advice or point me in the right direction to set the following up?

Video Card ATI AIW X800
Connections (1) DVI-I (1) VGA
Monitors (1) New Dell 2408WFP/Primary (1) 2405FPW/Secondary
OS XP Pro.

I want to run (1) Desktop across the (2) monitors. Being able to drag, drop, open.........

Which monitor should be hooked to which connection?
Should I go VGA to VGA or use the adapter?
anything I need to do software or driver wise?

Any other tips, pointers or articles to read would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the input.

It's all built into Windows Display Properties. It's very simple to do. Just chect the box to "exetnd desktop..."

You may need a DVI to VGA or VGA to DVI adapter, I don't know what connectors those monitors have.

Look into Ultramon to fix things like not being able to switch maximized windows to the other monitor.
