Help Needed -- PSU Isn't Letting Video Card Drivers Install

Here's my rig.
http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16813121046 (mobo)
http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16814130062 (video card)
http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16822144416 (HD)

The rest obviously is RAM that I bought from a friend (works awesome, had it tested already 2 gigs of ddr2 667) and a power supply which I need a new one of.

I had this: http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16817171007
and it blows hard.

It won't power my video card completely. My rig reboots whenver I try to stress the card (so far that's just installing the drivers). I need more power. My current PSU is 19a and my video recommends 18a. So that's just barely! enough. And this is allegedly a crappy brand (Cooler Master). So now I am the market for a good one.

What brand do you recommend? I would like to get a 450-500 W one for about 50 dollars before or after shipping.
I have been using: http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/62618.aspx
as a way to judge brands.

Thanks for your opinion and advice!

This? I don't know. I did some searches the other day for the same kind of message and was pretty discouraged. You don't have that many quality choices under $50 US.

That's one of the only brands that do well from what I know under $50 but it's only 400 watts. Did you try connecting the video as well? Sometimes there's a 6 pin connector you need to connect on the video card OR there is a molex connector not too far from the video card on the motherboard that needs to be connected.

EDIT: I just looked at pictures of your motherboard and your video card. Looks like your video card doesn't have a 6 pin connector. And your motherboard doesn't have a molex connector close to the video card. Or, actually, I don't see one anywhere on the motherboard.

If it's a lack of power, you'll need to pay more. The Fortron Blue Storm II 500 watt is $87 US at newegg or $77 after the rebate.

It's more expensive but hey, that's life. ;)

At this point, I would pay anything to solve the problem. Tell me if this sounds like a PSU problem.

I checked the card in Device manager and it said "Driver not installed correctly". Dur I said back.

So I put in my CD that came with the card and clicked reinstall. It reinstalled fine, to my amazement. It's a hit or miss thing it seems.

But when XP boots, there are still artifcats and my screen goes idle after startup.
EDIT: About your comment and the molex thing. What does that mean? I'm a newb at this. Does that mean I just have to spend more money for more power?

The kind of connector that goes to your hard drive is a molex connector. (Well the IDE ones do.) Anyway, you won't find those on your motherboard. I don't think it requires more power.

Maybe try an older video driver or a newer one if you have an old one.

So let me get this correct...the PSU is responsible for video card drivers not loading??

Things that absolutely make no sense.

Your PSU is probably not the cause of this. I would check the RAM and video card first.
