I have a retail XP 2000+ T and I don't want to unlock it fearing of invalidating the warranty. The mobo is a Shuttle AK35GT2.

I was running it with 2 stick of Crucial PC2100. I set the RAM clock at "by speed" and use agressive timing. Then I set the CPU speed at 155 with 1.75v and I got pretty good stability.

I just bought some Crucial PC2700. I thought I would defenitely overclock better, or at least get faster RAM speed. Maybe I was wrong.

The problem I have now is I can not set RAM run at 166 while CPU run at anything above 133. If I set RAM clock to be "by speed" and CPU at "133" then windows boots up and works fine. However when I run Sandra, it showes although RAM is running at 2x166, the memory benchmark is actually lower than what I got before. It may be due to the fact the CPU is running at 2x133 only instead of 2x155 as it used to.

But when I went back to BIOS any raise the CPU clock to anything about 133, it just won't post! So it is impossible to set CPU clock between 133-166 while set the RAM clock "by SPEED". I also tried setting RAM clock "166", but it won't allow me to raise CPU speed higher than 133. Just no post! Too, my CPU is locked, and I can get it run when FSB is set at 166.

The only way I can raise the CPU clock is setting RAM speed at "133" and then raise CPU. Right now I am stable at 150.

I am totally confused. To overclock CPU, I have to underclock my PC2700? This is even worse than my old setup using PC2100.

Am I missing something? Is anybody able to run CPU/RAM at 150/166?
