My wife just took a new job at the hospital as a patient care coordinator and it requires her to write up numerous reports about patient incidents, treatments, etc. One of her co-workers has a Journada with the full size keyboard, but it works on some sort of bastardized WinCE. The Journada doesn't have a HD, and it won't accept some fairly mainstream programs, like Dragon Naturally Speaking Medical Edition. I would love to buy her a new mini-PC or a PDA with a semi-full size keyboard for a b-day present, but I don't know what to get. Any suggestions? BTW, the hospital is gradually working towards a wireless network standard, so it must be small enough to fit in a lab-coat, upward compatible and able to spit out MS Word compatible documents. Gracias Y'all.

Fujitsu P-Series Lifebooks

They are compact, full featured, top line model comes with built-in WLAN card, and so far has been awesome to work with. It uses a Crusoe (Intel compatible) cpu which uses very little power.

Much better than the Toshiba Proteges, but remember, this is NOT a desktop replacement. Meaning, this is not the fastest laptop, but can run most Office/business with good to very good speed, and the battery actually lasts longer than just a couple of hours (3.5), which most P3-P4 laptops can't come close to. Lastly, it only weighs 3.5 pounds. So if she is travelling with it, it won't feel like carrying a suitcase.
