Help needed on old Compaq Presario laptop

Someone please help me.

This is driving me insane. The Compaq website has nothing... i mean *NOTHING* on audio and video drivers for this old laptop.

It's a Presario 1230 model with a Cyrix processor. *yikes*!

Plz, any links would be greatly appreciated.

THx

Did you find the specific drivers you were looking for? I have the same laptop, and wanted to install W2K on it (after a memory upgrade to 96 megs) but after doing so found that there was no sound and couldn't for the life of me find a W2K sound driver for that stupid integrated Cyrix MediaGX cpu/gpu/soundchip. Ended up going back to W98SE, but if you've found a good source for these drivers, I'd be grateful if you'd pass it along.

Cheers,
Wade

Thats why Presario is Compaq speak for "hahaha we got your money now get stuffed!"

🙂

Get an Armada or Kayak or Deskpro and they'll be worshipping you and begging to offer you help 🙂

On a serious note, I've come upon this many times when trying to get drivers for a 'Presario' so it's not only your model notebook.
