So what I need help with is choosing the right RAM and motherboard for my build. I am considering the P55 route with an i7 860 (I need hyperthread). If you think that going the P55 platform with i7 860 is the better router, please tell me why. If I do take the P55 route, I will save about 120$. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Looks good from here, but I haven't built man i7 systems. The RAM is great stuff, I've built several systems with that exact kit or a set from the series. For a motherboard, you could check out the Gigabyte X58-UD3R - http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...cture=Gigabyte . It's pretty decent for the price and I got some good clocks out of it. Hopefully, someone with more experience can chime in 🙂.

Gigabyte x58a-ud3r is the best bang for the buck mobo on x58 right now.

Make sure it has the "a" after the x58 cause that means usb3.0 and sata iii.

For the powersupply, get a antecp tp650 or tp750. Both are better than that corsair model.

If you want a corsair model then get corsair hx650 or hx750. The tx series was great but it is now a old design and you should spend the extra few dollars to get a newer design.

For case, that case is trouble for dust, be prepared to clean every week. Alternatively you can look at cooler master storm sniper black edition($140) or Silverstone Rv01 ($200)/Rv02 ($160ish)

Edit: I ordered the same ram kit after doing my own research. Hopefully it is good.

It's really hard to say which is going to be the "best" overclocking motherboard, as your results are tied to the abilities of your particular CPU, RAM, and MoBo. What kind of clocks are you looking to hit? The Gigabyte UD3R and the ASUS PGT Deluxe have good reputations...

That GSKILL RAM looks awesome. Though I've never used that kit, I have included GSkill RAM in a number of systems I've built and they all run buttery smooth. My OCZ kit is one of the cheaper 6 GB kits and it gives me endless headaches while OCing. Not recommended.

checkout bestdirect.ca for parts. usually everything is cheap there when compared to other sites in Canada. You can also call in for a price match and they will. I price matched with them that were cheaper at directcanada.

EDIT: They have $8.99 shipping or if the order is above $500 then it is free shipping. NCIX will charge you atleast $30shipping if getting a case. You can use that money to get yourself a DVD burner for free pretty much.
