I purchased, what I was told would be MS Flight Simulator 2000 Professional Edition, jewel cased CDs only. When it arrived, it didn't state that it was the Professional Edition, on the jewel case insert, disks, or in the program. We sent several e-mails back and forth. He said that "only the box say pro edition." And that "u can ask poeple at anand or call microsoft and theyll say that they have same jewel case and setup cd."
Well that's exactly what I'm doing!
I went to the MS web site to find out the differences. It stated that the Professional Edition has two additional aircraft...
The King Air 350 & the Mooney Bravo.
My program show neither of these planes as options.
The MS 2000 "Pro" site...
http://www.microsoft.com/catalog/display.asp?site=10129&subid=22&pg=1
The MS 2000 "standard" site...

Picture of the CDs & jewel case that I was sent...

Would some of you Flight Simmers settle this matter for us? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Well I'm no flight sim expert at all, but if you go to those sites and look at the logos. They are different. The professional edition has a plane flying in front of a sun, and says professional edition. The regular one has a plane in front of a cloudy sky, and says "as real as it gets". Your picture is exactly the same as the "regular" one. Combine that fact with those missing aircraft, and I'd say you've got the regular edition. I'm also quite sure that MS would put professional edition all over it. They love hype.

You've got the standard edition. The Pro edidtion would definitly have the two additional aircraft. There is a difference in the jewel cases. Get your money back.

You definitely got ripped off. I have the profressional edition and my jewel case looks nothing like that. And yes, it does say on the jewel case that it is professional. Get you money back from that scammer.

I thank all of you for your response. We are both watching this thread to see the outcome.

He did tell me that, "when i bought this from best buy i got pro edition!"

I'm in a quandary about the whole situation, because he has a great track record at HeatWare.

Probably just a memory slip on his part. It seems quite obvious to me that this is not the pro edition, and he should do something to make this right.

Tell them to send you the right one!!!:(

I have my CD's right here, and the "jewel case" say's "Professional Edition" in yellow letters along the bottom, just below the words "Flight Simulator 2000".

Open up and look at the cd's, and they have the same thing......the words "Flight Simulator", and underneath, in smaller letters "Professional Edition".

Seeing as how this version costs more, I'd be raising a little hell until they shipped me the right one or gave me a refund.

Hopefully the company has good customer service.......although I'd be a bit worried considering they don't seem to know much about their own products!

toadstool,
Thanks for the info. I didn't purchase it from a company. I bought it from an individual.
