Hello.
I got following specs from newegg.
Barton 2500+
Asus A7N8X DELUXE (refurbished)
Antec SLK3700AMB (refurbished)
1 stick of Buffalo 3200 512M

It won't post at 200*11 even I raise the vcore to 1.80. When I put everything into mb and booted for the first time, MB reported it as 1100 Mhz. Should I RMA the MB? Or should I use 2 256mb ram for the twin mode?
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

It's normal for it to start off at 1100. You need to raise the FSB to the correct setting, which is 166MHz, and lock your RAM to 100% of the CPU's FSB so that the RAM also runs 166MHz. Start from there, that's the stock speed. Set memory voltage to 2.7 volts and begin working your way towards the 200MHz FSB in steps.

Would it be possible the panaflo fan dying? Does it have a motor in it?
This two connector lead almost kills me.
Thanks.

To get your CPU working at its proper speed, see the instructions I gave above. :)

Regarding the fan: what is the model number on the Panaflo fan? It will be something like FBA08A12L or some such thing, please give the full number. It does have a motor in it, and they are historically very reliable.

Thanks for your help.
In fact, I was able to overclock the computer to 3200+ with 200 fsb. The problem was ram. I purchased the Kingston value ram from BB and viola!, it worked.
Thanks again.

Just one more question.

My panaflo fan seemed to be dead. I just asked for the RMA to Newegg. The problem was the bare leads which were freed from motherboard several times when I run the computer. So no fan at some moment. The computer shut down by itself and I still hear that the computer post the beap sound. I believe there might be no harm on motherboard or cpu. Would it be correct? I put the thermalright 947u with the fan though.
THanks a bunch.

What is the fan's model number from the label? And do NOT run the system without the heatsink fan, friend, or you will damage your CPU, and then your face will look like this ----> :Q:(

I don't run computer without fan intentionally. I ordered another panaflo fan from SVC which has 2 to 3 pin connector. THe model number of panaflo from newegg is fba08a24L. While I was running my computer, I thought that the fan worked just fine but it didn't. Sometimes I found that the temp was risen by 80C so I turned it off. Would it already damage the CPU?
By the way, I bought the refurbished slk3700AMB from newegg for 39 with free shipping.
THanks.

The "24" in the Panaflo fan model number means it is a 24-volt fan, which is not good for a computer because the computer has 12-volt power. So the fan tries to run at 50% speed but it may fail to start or to stay running. For the moment, use any normal 12-volt 80mm fan on your heatsink. I don't know why Newegg is selling 24-volt Panaflo fans... that is an irresponsible thing for them to be doing. :|

Your CPU is probably slightly weakened by the overheating but will probably be ok if you don't do it repeatedly.

Thanks. That helps a lot.
I just asked to Newegg service whether I can RMA both motherboards and CPU for the repair if anything happens. They say that they will exchange them upto two weeks. In that case, I have a plenty of time to test my computer after a new panaflo fan from SVC arrives.
Thanks again.

Welcome to the Forums viperoneusa, here is a review that should answer your question about 333 versus 400 really well: 755A versus 755A2[/L It seems very likely that it will support the 3700 later.

Hello,

DDR/400 memory were tested on the 755-A with no problem found, you need to find
out if the memory is a true DDR/400 because some memory manufacturers sell
memory at an overclock speed so when you run utility program, the true speed is
revealed.
