I have a 75 GB WD Raptor that is dying on me with intermittent failures to boot, etc. It is the primary drive with Win XP SP3 installed on there.
So I purchased a 500 GB Seagate 7200.11 and used HDClone to clone the Raptor to the Seagate and then had HDClone resize the partition to 500 GB.
When I try to boot from the new Seagate, I get the NTLDR missing message.
So I booted into XP Recovery console and copied over the NTLDR files and the ntdetect.com to this new drive. I also made sure boot.ini was okay as well.
Yet, I still cannot get this new drive to boot Windows and keep getting the NTLDR missing.
This was a highly customized system and it will take me literally 5-6 hours to reinstall XP and get everything back to how it was.
Is there anything else I can do?
Your help is appreciated.
