Any ideas?
When teaching trig, students seem to remember either the word "sohcahtoa" fairly well, or else "oscar had a heap of apples"
I'm doing circle problems. I need something to remember ARDC by. (area radius diameter circumference).
Otherwise, students tend to really get stuck in finding the circumference when given the area and vice versa... too many steps for some of them to be able to handle with 3 separate formulas.
Give them the diameter and ask for the radius, no problem. Give them the radius and ask for the area, again - no problem. But, give them the diameter and ask for the area - they're stumped.
My job is to get them to be able to deal with it.. thus the need for a mnemonic.
