Can you give me a recommendation on a cheap video card to run Vista Ultimate w/ Aero smoothly?

1) I do not game.
2) Something under 200.00 please.
3) How big does my power supply have to be?

Any half decent card with 256mb will own Aero, I have a 9600SE and thats run its acceptably but the X1600 in my MBP totally crushes Vista.

a 80-120 card will do you just fine, some have very low system requirements as well.

I would suggest at least 7600/X1600 class video cards. I tried 6200TC and while it worked, it wasn't smooth. I don't think 7300/X1300 series cards would fair any better.

3D graphics requirements for Vista ULTIMATE?? ANY video card that supports full SM3.0. The new OQO Ultra mobile PC uses S3 Unichrome graphics and it runs Vista. Of course it won't run full Vista ULTIMATE, but you get an idea how low it can go.

Vista requirements are the most overrated.

Actually the 7300GT cards run excellent, about 3-3.5x faster than the 6200TC. 7300GT is nearly equal to a 7600GS, and with some overclocking, can surpass it.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll wait for the next hot deal. My $35 6200LE will have to do for now.

OK, I couldn't wait because my C2D parts arrived today. I got the eVGA 7600GT for $95.

That will work nicely and a good price to boot.

Thanks =) I guess I can't complain. I know I missed the killer deals at NewEgg over December but I have much bigger things to worry about than a couple bucks here and there.

The biggest selling point over the BFG 7600GT OC was the fact that the fans on this one are quiet.
