I read an interesting article recently which I imagine was linked at these forums at some point, about manmade diamonds and developments that are allowing leaps in the quantity/quality/cost of thier production.

You can always talk about DOHCs, people seem to think those are high tech (even though they're getting close to a century old) :)

If it's for a general oral comm. class, the audience will not give a crap about serial ata drives you losers. Pick something that is interesting.

If it's a new computer technology for a computer class, ok I guess that would work.

Um, that "copy protected" CD just has two sessions burned onto it...one as CD-audio, and one as CD-data. So all we need to copy it is a program to rip the CD-audio session that won't show up in My Computer, but is still accessable. The Rogue Spear CDs have this same formatting if anyone wants to try it out. :)

It also means they can only put out 30 minute albums unless they compress the data files. :|

How about wireless local area network with Voice over IP? Check out the major player in the market right now, Vocera.com

It just pisses me off because these are the people who would do a stupid presentation for an oral comm. about 64 bit encryption. Guess what, I gaurantee you're the only one in your class that cares. The purpose of a speech is to interest the audience, not dumbfound them.

Just the other day someone did a speech about email protocols, he got a sh!tty grade because the audience was bored and it was too technical a subject.

Talk about hyrbid cars, you can fill up two minutes while still being at a level that is relevant to most people.

Now there's a sensible response.
