HELP!! Need to record from line-in!

I have very little time left - for some reason I just can't record line-in audio from a tape deck to the computer!
The same goes for internal audio as well as a Yamahaha Peice-o-junk card. I can HEAR line-in audio... I just can't RECORD it!
Sound Forge, Windows Recorder, nothing seems to work.....
HELP! Please? This never seemed to be a problem years ago with CL cards IIRC. 🙁

If your recording from line in, make sure it is not muted. only either microphone in, or line in, can be used at once. just open up your sound editor and hit record. if you still dont get a signal, just use the microphone input.

I use a nifty little program called TotalRecorder for stuff like that. I think I got it from download.com. Anyway, it can record anything, including streaming audio from the internet. It looks for anything heading out to your speakers and captures it.

Something I over-looked once in this same circumstance....

Open Volumn control panel... Options > Properties. Click recording button > OK. Make sure Line-In is "selected"

I hope that's all your problem is.
