Help~! ....Need to reconfigure my IDE Cables ** Thanks **

Guys/Gals -

I am not good with computers....so i need some help

Got a New Harddrive..and i need to recongiure by IDE Cables

MY stupid Burner for some strange reason wont burn unless it is on Primary Master....<no clue why>
I have a stupid HP 9700 16x Burner...stupid....

Here is config now.

Primary Master - HP 9700 16x Burner ..
Primary Slave - Maxtor 60 gig (Where the OS is on)

Secondary Master - DVD/CD Rom
Secondary Slave - Western D 120 Gig

I am pretty sure I can get a better setup to run my comp faster while still burning CD's

My computer loads up slower now since it is on the slave...

Any Help..

I had b4 at

P.M - Max 60
P.S - WD 120

S.M - HP Burner
S.S - CD/DVD rom

But with this setup...it wouldnt burn my cds..

no offense... but general hardware would be a better place to ask... butset 60 gig as primary master, dvd as primary slave... burner as 2ndary master, 120 as 2ndary slave... unless you never copy cd's.. in which case...
u want pm - 60 ps - 120 2ndm - burner 2nds - dvd

btw, if that first one dont work... just swap the primary and 2ndary
