Help need suggestion for pc newbie relative software /scanner problem

Need a suggestion for pc software install / repair with an artec 48u scanner.
Win xp home
compaq pc
artet 48u scanner

They say the images are "all over the place"

1. i'm in sc.
2. they are in florida.
3. they need tech support and are near pc illerate
4. what's the best way to find decent service and reasonable prices in their area?

Search google: "Computer Repair, {name of city}, florida".

Where in Florida? I'm in central Florida in Lady Lake but I don't do house calls farther than Ocala or Leesburg (see my sig).

Around here Best Buy also does house calls. Their repair department is called Geek Squad (geeksquad.com).
