Help need for flashing Cardinal #3480 modem to v.90

I am trying to flash a Cardinal connecta external modem model 3480 to v.90. The setup disk that came with the modem has the v.90 drivers, but when I use the Hyperterminal program to check the modem, it doesn't show v.90 support. I downloaded the flash program from www.windrivers.com and the correct(?) flash file, but, when I run it, I get the error message "this file cannot be used with this modem."

Anyone got an answer? I am currently connecting at 33.6(v.32) and would like to get a faster connection.
