help, need drivers for gf's modem!!

Hey, I reformatted my girlfriends computer, its an HP. I got everything but the modem drivers... It had win98 on it, I put ME on it. Heres the modem specs: Rockwell PCI Modem, the version I saw before I reformatted in the device manager was 2.2.2.154.004

ANY help is appreciated thx.

Her HP should have come with 2 CD-ROMs, one is a Recovery disc, the other is an Application disc. Based on experience with helping a friend get her HP running after a crash, I found that drivers were on the Application disc. See if your girlfriend has that disc.

See if the native Rockwell drivers on the WinME CD will work for it. Otherwise, you'll have to research who actually made the modem in order to get the appropriate drivers.

There should be a FCC on the modem somewhere. Do a search for at that below site. At the very least, it may identify who the manufacturer is.

Well,She has the 2 cd's but when I stick them in and reboot and try to run them, it says this will only work on a HP computer? wtf? any ideas? Im going to her house ina few and will be back later with the tower and work on it here at my hosue

You've also got the "Standard 56000 bps Modem" driver. Hey, it may not have any advanced configuration options, but I've had many a computer that had a modem work because of that driver. All modems use the same basic AT commands, so no reason the Rockwell shouldn't work as well.
