Not sure if this is under the right topic but here we go...

My sister owns an AOpen MiniPC model MP915-b with a Pentium M 1.7ghz cpu. I didn't think these even needed active cooling as they are supposed to run cool but alas that is not the case. Months ago the blower fan on the cpu went dead and sine them the comp can only be turned on for 5 minutes before it overheates and shuts off and that is from a cold boot. I have written AOpen with no response and I have been on hold today for 45 mins before i decided to hang up.
I need a fan replacement if not several!!!!!!!!! to last a couple of years.

the fan model is Y.S Tech BD125010HB

I know there is also a Vantex HDD exclosure that uses this same fan.

if anyone knows where i can pick up a few replacements, other fans that will work as well, or a mod to use another fan/cool this thing please reply!

Any success yet?
Last year, mid 2007, I ran in the same trouble, even mistakenly killed the speed controll on the MP915's motherboard. At that time I asked UTEC but they told me the fan is no longer in production and there is no replacement. However, someone in the computer shop revived the old fan. Last month the fan gave up yet again so now I really like to find a replacement.

I am trying to get a couple of Delta BFB0512hha fans from a company located in the UK. They normally do not allow individual customers to order goods so I am not sure this will work.
Alternatively there seems to be a 50x50x9 blower from Tiger that may fit (model SD500905B) (5V DC). However I would need to order 100 of them, so this is not going to work for me now.
An other alternative I found may be the SEPA HYB50C50. 5V DC, aluminium body, high reliability automotive fan. This may fit with some adjustment. For this one I found an online shop that sells it at 30-35 euro including tax and handling.

I am just logging this for others to see if these type numbers may work for them. If I get more success I will let you know!

Start with the specs for the fan you need. I clicked the Product Range link on Y.S. Tech's site and clicked the Model Numbering System at the top of the page to decode the model number.

BD125010HB

BD: DC Blower
12: 12V
50: 50mmx50mm (dimensions)
10: 10mm (thickness)
H: High Speed
B: Ball Bearing

All Electronics, in Van Nuys, Ca. has this model for $3.25 that appears to be a perfect match.

All Electronics Corp.
14928 Oxnard St.
Van Nuys, CA 91411

Hope that helps. :)

Harvey, thank you for your quick response.

The Y.S. BD125010HB product details should be at this link: http://www.ystech.com.tw/yensun/ser_fun.asp?size=50*50*10&type_id=Blower and here: http://www.ystech.com.tw/yensun/imgFile/BD5010-2.pdf
It looks like the right one as it blows out to the side; also I believe this is the original part number for the fan in MP915 mini pc - actually the one we seem unable to order. I'll try again.
The other one, from All Electronics, this is a regular fan with axial output. The Mini PC needs a radial output.

I will let you know when I find more news.
