My uncle accidentally bought a Sony SCSI CD-Burner and I need to know what kind of SCSI interface card would be good... Cheap preferably

Thanks!

Check the For sale forums here. There are always guys selling scsi cards cheap. Tekram comes to mind for cheap scsi. Check HERE for pricing.

NateSLC, check out this IWill card @ MWave. If you don't need a bootable SCSI card (and for use only w/ a burner you don't) this will do the trick, for $29.

Will this one work?

Click Me!

Thanks! I know there are tons of SCSI formats out there and I want to be sure this one will work with a Sony Spressa 10x4x32x SCSI burner...

Edit: It looks fast, but it's really cheap... Too cheap?

:)

Yep, that will work just fine. SCSI is definately the way to go for burners. Hell, my whole system is SCSI except for my DVD drive and I plan on replacing that with a SCSI drive also.

Nate, either the IWill or the Tekram card will do just fine. FWIW I'm running a Teac 32x SCSI CD-ROM, an HP 8x4x32 SCSI CD-RW and an HP SCSI scanner on an IWill 2930U+ card and it handles everything just fine.

Well, my uncle found the wonderful world of internet shopping and bought the CD Burner for $100 and does not know the difference between IDE and SCSI. I have never installed or used an SCSI card (unless you count the ZIP Zoom card I was about ready to smash to bits).

Jeff H, thanks for letting me know what you are currently using on the IWILL card. It helps give me a better idea regarding what they can do.
