That CPU cooler is way overrated, get this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835233003

Why such an odd brand of HD4870? http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814121291 is what I'd suggest, but w/e works for you, it doesn't really matter...

Raid 0 is really not worth it anymore, a simple WD Black Caviar HDD is nearly as fast, http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16822136283

You really don't need a 1000w power supply, 750w would do, like this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/...E16817139006&Tpk=750tx

With the money you save from downgrading the PSU, upgrade your CPU to something like this, which would blow the q6600 out of the water, http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819115041

Otherwise looks great!
That rig will dominate any game at 1680x1050. :D

If you're going to stick with the LGA775 platform, get an E8400-E8600 instead of the Q6600 unless you use some multimedia apps that take advantage of quad core. Otherwise step up to i7.

Save yourself the headache of RAID and just get one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16822136319

I only see one store carrying that video card and it's $100 more than I just paid for a 1GB 4870. Get an Asus or Sahpire version instead, save the $100.

PSU is *extreme* overkill. I doubt you'll touch 500w with your system. The CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX linked above would be a good option.

As much as I love Vista, just get Home Premium x64. Ultimate won't help you at all for gaming.

If you're only going with a 2.1 sound setup, ditch the expensive sound card. Also, I'd suggest dropping back to a Logitech Z-4 or something similar and picking up a nice headset. If you are going to do online gaming having a good headset is a must.

Use the money saved to get a better monitor. That Dell is weak sauce. I'm not saying all Dell monitors are, just that one. I've got a 24" Dell myself.

Just to clarify what's already been stated: today's games do not really utilize four cores effectively (or at all, in many cases). You are much better off with a faster dual-core processor (e8400 or e8500) than a slower quad-core chip.

Look around the Hot Deals forum for stuff on sale. You can find great deals that will save you a bunch of cash if you spend a few minutes there.

And I love my Dell 2709W, absolutely incredible monitor.
