HELP!!! Need a quick opinion on a laptop.

My friend wants to buy an Adveratec 3150p today and I dont know if these are good or bad.

Have seen them around for a while but dont know anything about them Price is ok, about 800$ after rebate but the real question is quality and warranty.

ANY comments welcomed especially if you own any model Advantec or know someone who does.

Averatec is a new company (or new name) I never saw them prior to this year. I don't know how good they are. I would rather get a laptop from a company I know about

Ehh I wouldnt get one. I woudl rather spend a couple hundred more and get a much more reliable and more powerful HP.

IBM for laptops. It's just that simple. Maybe a Toshiba Tecra if you don't want to spend the premium for IBM, but the ThinkPads are simply a cut above anything else on the market. They are built like tanks and just go forever.
