I was about to purchase a Thermaltake Silent 775 HSF when I realized that the fan connector is 3-pin.
My MoBo is an Intel D915GAV, which uses a 4-pin HSF connection in order to regulate the fan speed using bios control. So, basically, I cannot go with the Silent 775 HSF solution, as is.
Now, I have a choice between Thermalright XP-90 with 92mm fan, or the Silent 775 but with an 80mm fan.
Therefore, in order to take advantage of my Mobo's Bios-controlled fan regulator, I need a very good (powerful) 92mm fan with a 4-pin motherboard connection, or very powerful 80mm fan with 4-pin connection. Both with ball bearings, preferably.
Requirement Summay:
92mm 4-pin motherboard connector fan (powerful. i.e. >42 CFM)
80mm 4-pin fan (powerful)
Bearing Type: Ball
Noise level: NOT AN ISSUE.
One more thing: An adapter is not going to help with my need. I need an actual 4th electrical connection to the MoBo in order to take advantage of the Bios-controlled fan regulator. If I'm not mistaken, an adapter does NOT provide 4 electrical connections to a 3-pin connector!!
Please give some recommendations ASAP, as I need to order soon.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
