I was putting on my winter wheels today and one of my wheel locks broke off. The key is a little messed up too and it doesnt fit the other locks. But luckily this was the last wheel I had left and I dont care about these locks as I'd get a new set of locks anyways when I put my summers on in the spring.

How can I get this lug off? What shop can I take it to? I live in central NJ

Find an impact socket that will just barely fit over it. Hammer it on. Gun it off.

Any decent shop should have a welder. Just weld a nut to it.

I dont want to risk damaging the wheel though

Get a welder who is good at GTAW. What is the material? Wheel is Aluminum, I assume, but is the lock steel?

The two ways I have seen it done. Do as stated above and get a welder weld a nut on, any good welder can do it without hurting the rim. The other one is a long rod and a sledgehammer to snap the bolt, that would damage the rim.

I just hammer a socket on to them. If you take it too a shop thats probably what they will do.

goto a shop, they have tools which take off broken wheel locks. I believe its kinda like the gator grip, they just stick it it on an impact wrench, and blow the lug nut off. I messed up a couple of mcgard lugnuts a few years ago, just took it to goodyear, and they had em removed in a few minutes.

i assume this will work for yours too...but my damage wasnt as bad as yours. I stripped the key on the inside, but the outside was still intact. It should still work though...worth a shot

This should work fine. Or get a cheap socket that is slightly larger than the lock, hammer it on, and use a breaker bar to try and remove it.
