Hi, guys, I upgraded my system 1 month ago and switch from Intel to AMD.
After the first few minutes of joy. I found a very serious problem. Noise!
I am nearly mad now.
It is too noisy.
I get a vocanol2 fan. 1 motherboard for my KT7A raid. 1 fan for my Geforce2 pro. 1 fan in my power supply. 2 fan from my Antec 830(already unplugged), plus the noise from the HD, CDRW, espially the Delta 50X from Staples. All these stuffs work together to make my room like a garage.
Who can tell me how to reduce the noise of AMD system. I don't want to sell it.
Pls.

A Victim of AMD Noise

you list all these fans that you have, which i doubt you really need. then you say it is an amd noise problem. *snort*

So which components and/or fans did you change/add? It isn't like you switched motherboard and chip and suddenly your system got louder.

Go here 2cooltek. Get yourself some high quality/low noise panaflows or Sunons to replace your current fans.

Well, first off, replace that Delta CD-ROM with a Toshiba CD-ROM or DVD-ROM. Other than that, the CPU fan is probably the worst noisemaker, you can try to find a quieter replacement for that but I don't know what will fit on that HS.
One of the reasons that I am sticking with Intel P3 systems for the moment is because of the cooling requirements of AMD systems. I REQUIRE low noise from my PCs and it's much easier to keep a P3 system happy with quieter CPU fans.

thanks, guys. I've already unplug the damn Delta and all the case fans. anyone thinks that I replace all my fans will solve this problem? the videocard fan is original , and vocanol 2, who can recommand a fan that is quiet and support to 1.4GHz.
my chip can run at 1.4, but I don't want.

<< You unpluged the fans??????? >>

Case ventalation is really really important, especially with a CRAP HSF like a volcano 2. Heck, you shouldn't even be using that on your CPU.

use 4 panflo L1A's at 7 volts to cool your case. Replace all the fans in your PSU with PanfloL1A's at 7 volts. Good fans for an entire cmputer will run you $100 or more, but if you want it to be quiet, you have to pay.

Get the Taisol CGK 760092, will cool very good for 1.4GHz, and is very quiet with stock HSF.
