Help!! My sound / volume control keeps turning down.

I have installed XP a few times on this rig and every time the volume keeps turning down.

It only happens when the sound is in use, like when I'm playing BF1942.

I have this motherboard and it's driving me crazy!

I have turned up the volume in all of my sound applications that I know of.

The volume still wants to turn ALL the way down.

Hopefully one of you brainiacs can help.

What soundcard?

Had a similar problem with an off brand onboard sound. Ended up being that the XP drivers sucked and the company was out of business. New soundcard time.
