HELP! My processor has no pins!!! 478 3.4ghz prescott!!

opened up a dell 4700 to look at the 3.4 P4 478 socket processor and it has no pins on the bottom...am I missing something?

Yeah, I would say so! PINS! Obvious I know. That sounds like ...well.....fricken wierd! Are the pins in the socket? Did you rip it out?

I'm really not trying to sound like an a$$hole here. Just questions is all.

perhaps someone forgot to lift the lever before they decided to pull something out?

no the motherboard has this bracket the cpu pushes into and the gold contacts on the cpu connect with motherboard... odd

Anyone who buys a Dell should not think about opening it. Same goes for Mac's. Users and owners of those PC's most of the time do not know what they are doing.

Wrong. Most Mac users are far more knowledgeable about their systems compared with PC users and that is a fact.

wow stfu i bought a factory comp that had a skt 939 board and dual x16 for like 450 and just swapped a card ram and new proc in there. was no biggie sometimes you should look for thos deals they come around.
