What's causing it?

At first I thought its a memory stick problem, but I changed it already. I can hear the fans working, so its not over-heating.

Anybody has an idea what's causing it? Thanks in advance for the help.

BTW, I've got that old Dell PC dimension 8300. Maybe its just screaming for a replacement.

Just because the fans seem to be running doesn't mean proper cooling is occuring...I think techmanc is on the right track.

That was my suspicion at first, so I cleaned the inside a couple weeks after it started acting up, but it didn't help me at all.
