Just bought a mic and plugged it into every hole, made sure nothing in volume control was muted, and still nothing? Why doesnt it work. arg.
 
did you enable it?

in the volume control (that little loud speaker), go to it, and make sure you see an option for microphone

else, click options on top, properties, make sure microphone is checked...
