help: my Maxtor 120GB lost majority of space

This is 120GB Maxtor internal HD installed in my XP pro; now it still says 120GB, but only about 20GB used and 50GB free. Therefore about 50GB space is missing. (this occurs after power failure.) I know that I have some 50GB files there.

I used XP to scan this disk and cannot find it. Anyone can help? any software that can fix this without formatting it and losing my files?

thanks.

Right click "My Computer" and click on "Manage". Select "Disk Management".
What are the sizes of the partitions on the disk and the free space and used space?
Is there any unallocated space?

Disk Management says 114.49GB there and all of them is allocated. No free space. There is only one partition for this HD. Here is the report from Disk property:

Capacity: 114GB
Used space: 65.4GB
Free space: 49.0GB

However, when I browse the files, there are only 16.3GB-size of files availabe. There is no hidden file. Nothing in my recycle bin either. There are 50GB file missing but still occupying the space.

Any hints? (I guess that I need to use some kind of software repairing HD header table) Thanks a lot.
