HELP! MY MACHINE WON'T POST!

Here are my machine's specs:

MB: Abit NF7-S v.1
HSF: Vantec Aeroflow
CPU: T-bred 2100+
DDR: 2x256 Samsung PC2700

Here's what happened:
I tested out all 3 components. Everything POSTed. The CPU read as 2700+ at 166x13. I'm not sure how that worked, but I believe the previous MB owner probably had his CPU running at that speed. Checked the temperatures, and the highest temperature the CPU got to was 35C. Yes, 35C. Made me question the validity of the reading, but that's another issue.

Being confident with Abit boards, I then decided to crank up the timings to 200x11. The machine didn't POST, which is what I expected. I discharged the CMOS. Still no POST. I removed *all* power, put the CCMOS jumpers to discharge overnight, and still no POST. Any one have any ideas here on what I can or should do next? Did I ruin the MB, CPU, RAM? I'd really appreciate *any* help I can get here.

At wit's end,

uhoh...this doesn't sound too good (no pun intended). Do you have an extra mobo lying around?

I have an Abit KT7-A board. I'm thinking of taking the 1.2 Ghz Athlon from that board and plugging it into the NF7-S. Might that reset the mobo settings?

I don't think it will reset the mobo settings but it just might test out if your mobo is working.

i believe as long as the CPU fan is working, it shouldn't fry the chip.
