I just flashed to the new KK1022 BIOS so I could use my XP1600 on this board. Now it works fine and has not crashed yet but it has developed an anoying problem.

After the flash everything was fine with the T/Bird 1200/266 and then I put the XP1600 on it and fired it up. No post no beep NADA. After the usual *%$@#*$ I hit the reset button and it came alive so I stopped swetting bullets. Now it does the same thing every time I shut it down. Now if I do a restart everything os OK.

Any help? I'm running Win98SE on a fresh install and a new harddrive so there shoulden't be any conflicts.

Thanks

I was about to post the same issue, and found the same issue in this old post.

I just dusted off my old box with an Iwill KK266 (VIA KT133A chipset) and a XP1600 Palomino as a backup browsing box, and it has the same problem. It won't boot unless I press the reset button after power. Tried different RAM combinations and it did not help.

Did anyone actually find a solution for this?

I've never heard of someone having a twelve year old backup computer... are you serious? That would be markedly slower than a Pentium-4 machine, and computer recyclers/dumps give those away for free.
