Hey guys,
I need some help and fast! I just got a new WD 30 gb hd and I formated it and started to install 2k on it. Now, my previous hd was a 60 gb IBM drive with 2k and 98 dual boot and a third partition for storage.

Before putting in the new hd, everything was working just fine.

I went to install 2k on the new hd, using a ntfs partition [ 10, 10, 10]

Now, i find that I can only access around 4 files in my storage drive on the ibm drive. Whenever i try to access any folder except three [email, favorites, my documents] I get an error stating "the request could not be preformed because of an I/O device error" Whenever I try to access any file inside those three special folders, I get "Cannot open file. Make sure a disk is in the drive you specified".

I really need to get back the data on that hd. Please help!

Sounds like you had FAT32 on the ibm drive since you were dual-booting with Win98 and Win2k. You won't be able to access those files with ntfs. You're going to have to change your new hd to FAT32.

Okay, I tried booting up with only the IBM drive and right now I can only get into Win98. 2k blue screens on load up, something about not finding system device or something. Well, I can now access everything inside those three folders but everything is still off limits to me. Someone here has to know how to fix this. Please help!!
