Help! My hard drive is unhappy!

I have a 40gb hard drive in my machine as a secondary that I keep MP3s on. I recently reinstalled this machine and ever since I have not been able to access the drive. The bios sees it, and Windows ME sees it, but anytime I try to access it Windows tells me it's not formatted. ACK! Tell me all is not lost!

What happens if you boot from a floppy and try to access it?

Windows 2000 does the exact same thing to my floppy drive ...

So is mine.. It's always so full and bloated.. It needs some TUMS...

Try to run scandisk or a third party program like Norton Disk Doctor.

Scandisk says it can't do anything because it's "not properly formatted". I also checked it out under linux, and linux can't mount it because the superblock is corrupt. I think this means I just lost a whole bunch of music.
