Help My Hard Drive Activity is NUTS in WINXP

Hi guys, long time reader, first time poster.
I've been having some really heavy hard-drive usage in WINXP RC2. My System is in my signature. I have 256 MB of RAM and I don't understand why I'm having such problems. WinXP said I needed more virtual memory, but I don't know why. The hard drive usually spins during games such as Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament and the new Return to Castle Wolfenstein Demo. I have my swapfile set @ 384MB (1.5 times my memory) and under performance I have Processor scheduling and Memory Usage set for Programs (not background tasks). Also, the hard drive is being accessed just when browsing around the start menu also. Please help, it's really annoying me!

Things I have tried already:
1) Installing Cacheman 5.0 but that did not seem to help, so I uninstalled it.
2) TweakXP : No help, uninstalled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Save my hard drive from a thrashingly premature death.

Im not sure if this helps, but I was getting that same "Not enough virtual memory" on mine, and later discovered that by Ghosting my Hard Drive, it somehow cuased this problem... A fresh install fixed everything... Just a thought...

- Let Windows manage your swap file (I know, blech!)
- Try a different HDD and see if it might just be the HDD that's the problem
