ok here's the whole story...

I have 30GIG drive with 3 partitions... C D E all fAT32

i formatted C to reinstall windows 2000
i get into the setup menu and it says something about windows have to write
some startup files to the drive but the drive is not windows 2000 compatible
or something...but this is the same drive i reinstalled windows 2000 like
200 times

im reinstalling because i always get a blue screen with hal.dll error
whenever i play games..and somebody have suggested to me that has something
to do with the boot sector

so i decided to use the ibm drive fitness test and chose ERASE BOOT SECTOR

then when i boot up it doesn't even show the drive anymore...and in windows
2000 it shows the 30gig as unpartitioned...then i tried wha tsomebody
suggested to use fdisk /mbr

and now it shows the c partition as unformatted and D AND E just says
extended 23gig but doesn't show it as 2 separate partitions...and it shows
it as unallocated space...

i tried using partition magic 8 to undelete partition and it says no
partitoins can be undeleted...and i tried the trial ontrack easy recover pro
and it just shows garbage files to recover..doesn't even show it all

are there any partition recovery programs?? or anything else i can do with
fdisk?

i read in another forum about "findpart"....what does that do? and i see ppl
posting all these numbers and heads and cylinders for easier help..i want to
do that to to aid you guys in helping me..but how do i do it? im an
advanced computer user so i guess i can follow instructions pretty quick...
thanks guys
