Whats up everyone.

Heres the problem: At the advice of so many people here on AT, I decided to get my replacement cartridges from Megatoners.com. Well, I purchased 18 of them to get free shipping. 6 color, and 12 black and white (for only about 36 bucks :) ).

Anyways, currently in my printer, i have the G&G brand (megatoners) Black cartridge and the Original Epson color cartridge. I can no longer print in color. Yes, my settings say automatic and color in the Epson Status Monitor, but it still prints them in B&W.

I also, went' and downloaded the latest XP driver from the epson site, installed it. Reinstalled their version of Status monitor. NOthing, same thing. It is printing color images in black.

I opened up a new color cart. from Megatoners, to test to see if its my original Epson thats out (does'nt appear that way when i removed it and looked at it, also the ink levels seem to show that it is full (btw, how come it shows that when i know its not).

the Megatoners cartridge didn't make a difference, either. I taped up the bottom and tried to reseal it the best i could so it won't dry up.

What can i try?

It`s possible that the colour print heads are clogged so try running the head cleaning cycle a few times,if you still have problems then you can buy special ink cleaning carts for the 880 that will clean and clear the print heads.

Mem, so do you feel that it is a printer problem? As opposed to a software problem?

My thinking was if the heads were dirty, it would still print some in color, but the colors would be faded, or faint. This thing is not putting ANY color ink on the page at all. Its like its ignoring the fact that its a color printer. Should i still try cleaning the heads?

Yep try it,since you`ve nothing to lose, also try the printer on a different PC,this should rule out a software problem.
