Help, my drive won't format

i have 2 40gb 7200 maxtor harddisks.

for a few weeks now, i've had them in raid0 using the onboard promise controller on my a7v133. i've had no problems.
last night i decided to scrap raid, so i backed up all of my data and killed the array. i installed win2k on one of the drives (after formatting with ntfs)
then when i go into windows to format the 2nd drive with ntfs, it just sits at the 2% mark without going anywhere. any ideas on what's going on?

thx in advance

try a tool like POWERQUEST PARTITION MAGIC to kill the old partition information.
or low-level-format the harddisk that troubles you, you should be fine then.
