Hi,

Hopefully you guys can help me. I was using my desktop as usual and when I went to plug in my printer with usb cable I got a burn smell starting coming from it and it froze. When I tried turning it back on, all that happened was a female voice that said "system failed" and something else that I couldn't make out... What should I do?

Thanks!

Did your power supply burn out?...

Unplug all the power cables from the case and then see the damages.

If you were inserting a USB device AND the system responds(female voice) when you power up, chances are it's your Motherboard. To test, try a different power supply. Try your current power supply in another system.

Separate all your components and smell them. The one that smells the worst is the one that broke.

Do not turn it on again until this issue is resolved, or you may do more damage.

If he has a USB footwarmer that might not be true.
