HELP! My computer died! :(

I have a TXPro 2 Mobo running a k6-2 400 (6x66) and it has stopped posting. I went to add some more ram to it today, and it won't do anything anymore. I know it's not a bad psu or bad ram. Does anyone have any ideas or what I could try? Just ask if you need more info, TIA 🙁

How long has it been since you re-thermal compounded your chip? It might of finally overheated and gave up the ghost.

Pull everything but the processor and make sure the speaker is hooked up and listen for beeps. If there are no beep codes then your board or chip is gone (or maybe PSU). At that point you will need to swap parts to see. If you don't have any available then take those bare components and your video card to a computer shop and they might test your components for a small fee.

I guess that is possible, but it's been so stable, if the chip was overheating, wouldn't I have had problems with crashes? I get no beeps at all ever unfortunately 🙁

Ok, well I didn't actually READ your message, lol..

Well, if its NOT the power supply or bad ram, AND it STILL won't boot with just video, perhaps its the motherboard.

Swap out the CPU first, and have you swapped the video card. Check those two first before doing anything with the mobo

<< Well, it's onboard video, I can't see that suddenly dying... and wouldn't I get beeps? >>

Just test a diff video card, never know.
