Dont know about W2K, but I bet if you can see what loads at startup, you will see it. Could disable it then. Not a comp geek I am afraid, but I had a similar problem under 98 and that took care of it.

I am sorry, but that is funny as hell.

Perhaps you have a back door that is letting a hacker mess with you? I remember doing something like this to guys in college.

ctrl+shift+esc

Watch and see what process it is, then scan your registry for anything with its likeness. Otherwise, find out what port its coming through and see if some portkiddie is pwning you.

Screw blackice...that won't stop outbound requests from your own PC - Get zonealarm, or a router with a firewall.

Why screw BlackIce? Why would you want to stop the outbound requests on your computer? You put those programs on there so they could make those outbound requests.

backup, format, reinstall, patch, install anti-virus, install firewall, get on the net for the first time since format.

Easy solution to all of your "I dont know how to keep my machine from getting cracked by a 13yo in Alabama" problems.

TPF or ZA for firewall preferably.

And when those idiots install Zone Alarm they always want to call me and ask what the message "Do you want to let such and such connect to the internet?" means. I wish I was allowed to respond "Did you hear me answer the phone Zone Alarm tech support?"
