Help! my camera has fallen and can't get up

I've got a 9 year old kodak that I had to replace it's battery about a year and a half ago. The battery has died again so I think it's time see about total camera replacement.

Have not looked at all so know nothing about the current camera market other than a little I came across while buying a new video camera last year. This one has a 10x zoom and I probably want to stay away from the hi end stuff as I won't be the only one using this so less requirement to teach how to use is better.

intelligent auto from panasonic works really well. you could get a high end lx5, stick it in iA, and anyone can use it.

so the the auto modes from canon and sony.

what's your budget? do you want a 10x zoom?

I'd really like to keep zoom at 10x. I'm not planning on buying a slr so don't want to spend so much that I'm getting in that range.

what's your budget?

travel zoom type sounds right for you. panasonic invented the category a few years back. compact dimensions, 10x+ zooms. i'd look for a lens that goes wider rather than necessarily longer. a couple mm on the wide end makes a much bigger difference than 40 mm on the long end.

Interesting page, that kodak on it is probably the current edition of the one I have, and at about 1/3'ish the price i originally paid.
