According to that same spec, it says the plate can be 1.75 +/- .008 inches. I thought anthrax was referring to the positon of the audio holes, not the size of the plate. The position of the audio holes have nothing to do with the plate fitting into the case or not.

They do though .. because they are mounted vertically and they are too tall up .. so the plate has to be bigger to accomidate them.

Haahahaha.. you know!

Oh well .. I don't really like this golden member, diamond, platinum, silver, elite crap anyways.. fine if they put the post count .. but it's too classist for my testes.

nope, its not the issue with the back plate...
look at figure 5....page I/O connector area........ths triple audio controller is between 38 and 38.5 mm talll...
the spex maxium allowablw height was 1.475 ..thats 37.33 mm....therefore, it won't fit..

Yeah .. so it won't fit into a standard size ATX back plate .. so Asus made their's bigger .. and the back plate won't fit into the case .. well, neither will the audio stuff w/o the backplate so yeah.. it is the audio stuff .. but it's asus really .. is there a non-audio version of that board? Maybe you can exchange for non-audio?

Well, part of it is actually my case...the cut out area is smaller than the back plate.......There back plate meets ATX 2.03 and ATX 2.01 specifications...there board doesn't. its a 1 mm to high..
Therefore, its not compliant with ATX 2.03 specs.....oh well...time to deal with them...

......hmmm....i will try and ask them to replace it with a version without audio but with all the rest..,,don't really want that audio out any way... with the fire wire...6 USB.......
Does any one know who to mail as i want to keep it quick.. i am sure i am goin to get that usual script you get from Tech support.
Any way....any one know what type of file I should get to file away some 1mm thick steel plate ?

Thank SMP...
I really can't be stuffed wasting too much time on it..especailly when things just take soooo long in this country...

I really doubt they will have RAID version, firewire, with out the audio.....
they get me a new case.......would probably be super cheap........I like the case i am using at the moment..its really quiet.....I prefer it over the
Lian Li PC60 i have at home.....
Oh well, when it comes to buying my next video card , motherboard........might consider other brands.....

Looks like i will mod the case....need to get a file.....

Thanks again..
