I recently traded for a HSF combo and it seems like it burnt out all my fan slots on the motherboard.

specs:

ABit BH-6 (rev 1.0)
Alpha Pal 6030 (w/ Delta 38 CFM fan)
pIII 600e

One day I just turned it on and the CPU fan stopped working. I then tested it on the system fan slot. It worked fine, then a few days later it stopped working. I've tried my system fan on the CPU slot and vice versa with other fans. Still no go. You guys think that the fan shorted it out? Please let me know. Thanks.

Well, don't quote me on this, but I would certainly say it shorted something out... even though motherboards should be able to handle a Delta (routinely). But I'd have to say, based on what you said, that it's shorting them out -- but don't quote me, get some other opinions.

Yep high powered Deltas draw too much current so should not be connected to fan headers, always connect them to the PSU molex with 3 pin to 4 pin converter, looks like you might of damaged your fan headers.

It was connected to the 3 PIN (molex?). Then I stated, that I had moved it from there (after shorting) to the system fan (which is also 3 pins as well. Anymore help?

<< Delta 60mm 3 Pin 38CFM NOTE: DUE TO THE HIGH CURRENT PRODUCED BY THIS FAN, YOU MUST USE A 3>4 PIN ADAPTOR. DO NOT PLUG DIRECTLY ONTO MOTHERBOARD. >>

That`s why you should always connect it to the PSU not motherboard fan headers.

Ah, I definately misunderstood you earlier. Apologies. So, I believe it's time to RMA this board again. Can you specify what the MOLEX is?

Molex is the name for the type of connector at the end of the PSU you know the one that plugs into HD,DVD drive etc for power.

Molex connectors come out of your power supply and are usually used to provide power to hard drives and CD drives.
