Help! Monitor upgrade, higher resolution, will graphics degrade much?

OK. Here's the story.

Browsing newegg.ca (bad idea!) I found this:

Hanns-G 27.5" 1920x1200

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16824254052

$279.99 - $40 promo code, and free shipping...

I currently have this:

Acer 22" 1680x1050

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...16824009212CVF

I currently have the Hanns-G in my shopping cart, ready to press checkout....

I'm wondering, with my computer's specs, can I still play BF3 low-medium settings at the native 1920x1200 resolution? I have a XFX HD6850 Factory Overclocked GPU. (Main computer in signature).

I also multi-table online Poker, which higher resolution will help immensly 🙂

If my computer can't run this resolution then I may as well wait until I can upgrade, but if it can... I can't really say no!

Opinions to help this torn poor sap?

All else being perfectly equal, in a purely GPU limited scenario with perfect resolution scaling, you could expect something like 3/4 of your current framerate at the new resolution.

Nothing is perfect, but you can use it as a general guideline.

it shouldnt be much of a change since you are already in a good resolution, however it would be a slight bit slower.... if you are getting about 40 fps with ultra then like you would be getting 34 fps i guess.

100% in jest, but I have to laugh at a first-reply quote 🙂

CPU is an i3-2100, GPU is 100% all the time, CPU is in the 80-90% range
